What is Aging in Place?

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines aging in place as “the ability to live in one’s own home and community safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level”. Home For Life Advantage can help that become a reality when your home becomes less than accommodating.

When I deal with Home for Life, who actually does the work?

Who actually comes to your home to do the work depends largely on what company you deal with.   Many companies use sub-contractors and you don’t know who is going to come into your home to do the work because they don’t know.  When you’re dealing with Home for LIfe Advantage, we do the work!  We are with you from the time you ask for an assessment of how to meet your needs until the job is done.

Can Grab Bars be installed in a fiberglass shower?

Yes, however we highly recommend only having a qualified professional install them for you to insure proper anchoring.

Can a zero barrier shower be installed if we do not have a basement?

Yes.

Can Home For Life Advantage install the grab bars?

Yes, we are trained and qualified for all such home modifications.  Please contact us for a quote.

Does Medicare or Medicaid pay for any of these home modifications?

In some cases they do, you need to contact your local Medicare office or Senior Services office.

Can a chairlift be placed outside?

Our lifts can be installed inside or outside and will withstand the weather changes.

Can a stairlift turn around corners and continue up more steps?

Yes, we have lifts that will accommodate almost every stair situation.
